1 Timothy 1

 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy,and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for man-slayers,
 10 For whore-mongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for men stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
 11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
 12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
 13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
 15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
 16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
 17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
 18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
 19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
 20 Of whom is Hymenæus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

2 Timothy 3

 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents,unthankful, unholy,
 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Acts 10

  1  There was a certain man in Cæsarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian  band, 2  A  devout  man,  and one that...
